Coach Diegel is happy to announce a new member of the DCC Rodeo team, Emily Peabody who is from Ekalaka, MT. Peabody works the breakaway roping and the goat tying events. She has earned several rodeo honors throughout her high school rodeo career. During the 2012-2013 season, she was the MHSRA District 2 Goat Tying Event Director. In 2013, she was the MHSRA Breakaway Roping Reserve Champion at the Hardin rodeo and the Goat Tying Reserve Champion at the Jordan rodeo. Peabody was the 2011-2012 MT FCCLA District 5 Secretary and Treasurer. She also attended the FCCLA National Leadership Conference.
Coach Diegel says, "Emily is a competitive cowgirl in both the breakaway roping and goat tying. Emily is a great addition to our rodeo program and I look forward to having her on our team."
Emily's older sister, Carol, attended DCC and competed on the rodeo team from 2009-2012. Emily's parent's are Jennifer and Shane Peabody.
Callen Clarys, from Mandan, ND has recently signed his letter of intent to join the DCC 2013-2014 Rodeo Team. Clarys competes in saddle bronc riding. In 2012-2013, he was a part of the Cinch All-Star Shooting Team. Currently, Clarys sits in 2nd place in the saddle bronc riding on the North Dakota High School Rodeo Association standings.
"Callen knows that to be successful you must work hard, which is something he continues to demonstrate as he competes. Callen makes a good addition to our men's team and I am pleased to have him join our rodeo program," says Head Coach Kortney Diegel.
