The first gathering of Montana Association for the Education of Young Children (MtAEYC) at Dawson Community College takes place on October 16th, 2013. The session is an opportunity to network for any K-3, preschool or childcare provider. Keynote speaker Sharon DiBrito from Missoula Montana will present in the Ullman Center (UC105) between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. DiBrito is executive Director of Montana AEYC and has operated the Lolo Preschool for 25 years.
The Montana Association for the Education of Young Children is a professional; organization supporting early childhood professionals in Montana. MtAEYC is the Montana state affiliate of the National Association of Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the worlds largest organization working on behalf of young children with over 80,000 members.
Currently there are 370 members in MtAEYC with expertise in child care and education of children from birth to age 8. They include teachers, parent educators, family child care providers, center directors, university educators, and families of young children, all committed to the success of Montana's children.
The goal of the gathering is to discover how early childcare providers and primary grade elementary teachers can impact issues effecting children, families, early care and education in eastern Montana. Other topics include the advantages of professional memberships, strategies to keep connected with other early care providers and feeling out interest in launching a MtAEYC chapter in Glendive.
