Blogging 101: Blogging in Education to Connect with Millennial Students will be offered by Music Technology instructor Lisa Shields June 25 and 26 on the Dawson Community College campus in Glendive, Montana.
Dawson Community College is looking to match a college student from Germany with a qualified host family for the 2010-2011 academic-year. Robin’s hometown is Eitorf, Germany. He will be attending DCC on a scholarship program funded by the U.S. Congress and German Parliament (Bundestag). In addition to taking classes in fall 2010 at the College, Robin will start a six-month paid internship beginning in January 2011.
In the month of June Dawson Community College will offer free GED online study preparation.
General Educational Development(or GED) tests are a group of five subject tests which, when passed, certify that the taker has high school-level academic skills.
The tests were originally created to help veterans after World War II return to civilian life. More than 15 million people have received a GED credential since the program began.
Registration is under way at Dawson Community College for Basketball Skills Camps and Volleyball Camps to be held on campus in Toepke Center.
The camps for boys and girls have an excellent staff and an affordable price. Coaches from the Dawson Community College Athletic programs as well as DCC players from the Buccaneer teams will instruct the participants.

Toepke Center Auditorium & Cafeteria.
There were approximately 170 K-12 grade educators on campus to hear speakers such as author James Loewen.

MaryAnn Vester, Distance Education and Outreach Director at Dawson Community College, attended the State JSEC (Job Service Employers Committee) conference the last week of May in Billings where she was nominated as the MSEC (Montana State Employer's Council) Region 5 representative. The region covers Glasgow, Wolf Point, Miles City, Glendive and Sidney. Currently, Vester serves as Vice-Chair on the Glendive JSEC and also serves on the Sidney JSEC.
Dawson Community College will host the 11th annual Montana GEAR UP camp (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) from June 20th to the 26th.
For many children, the likelihood of attending and succeeding in college is small. Too many students face seemingly insurmountable barriers, including low expectations, inadequate academic preparation and a lack of information about education options and opportunities.
Looking ahead to the fall semester, Dawson Community College is searching for Glendive residents who would like to provide a "home away from home" experience for Dawson's international students.
Web access worldwide has made Glendive a less isolated educational destination for college age students from other countries. DCC’s international student population has increased recently, with more students joining our campus community for academic and athletic opportunities.
