POSITION: Temporary Part-Time Financial Literacy Project Director
DEPARTMENT: Student Services
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Dean of Student Services
SALARY: $15.00 per hour (Position is temporary, part-time. 5-15 hours per week average from October 7, 2013 to August 1, 2014. Contingent on funding.)
SUMMARY OF WORK: This position is responsible for assuring implementation of all aspects of the Financial Literacy Grant. Arrange workshops, assign workshop presenters, conduct student surveys, compile survey results, file reports, and maintain contact with the Director of Student Financial Services in the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education.
Skills: This position requires excellent organization skills, skills in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office software, copier, and general office equipment
Abilities: This position requires the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, follow verbal and written instructions, work with students. Operate equipment and vehicle in a safe manner; make appropriate assessments and referrals; use good judgment; be patient and understanding when dealing with students; establish effective working relationships with fellow staff members, students, faculty, administration, and the general public.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The above knowledge, skills, and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to:
--A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field,
--At least one year experience in organizing events, writing reports, and arranging student-centered activities.
