Dawson Community College Head Golf Coach Robert Rowlett is pleased to announce the signing two more student athletes for the upcoming 2009-2010 golf season. Joining the Buccaneer squad for the 2009-2010 season will be Kayla Lloyd of Meridian, Idaho and Emily Thorud of Gaston, Oregon.
Kayla Lloyd, a senior at Mountain View High School, is a two-time qualifier for the 5A Idaho state golf tournament, where she secured a 17th place finish as a junior in 2008. Her senior season is just underway. “Kayla will help take our program to the next level with her talent and work ethic,” stated Coach Rowlett. “She is a player that is intent upon being the best she can be, and I am excited to help her achieve her lofty goals.”
Emily Thorud, a senior at Forest Grove High School, was an individual qualifier for the 2008 Oregon 6A state tournament. Thorud secured a 7th place overall finish in her district and was voted second team all-league. She has served as team captain since her sophomore year, earning varsity letters in three consecutive years. Coach Rowlett says that “Emily will be a great addition to our program. She brings leadership and experience, and I am looking forward to working with her.”
