[3]Dawson Community College's 2009 Buccaneer Gala will commence at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, October 24th, 2009 on campus in the Toepke Center. An exciting evening of fun will include a social, a gourmet dinner, silent auction, a live auction with Rick Kniepkamp, and music and dancing to “The Xperts”. The Buccaneer Gala dinner menu includes a selection of appetizers, fresh mixed green salad, an entrée featuring stuffed sirloin steak accompanied by twice-baked potatoes and grilled vegetables, followed by delectable desserts.
The Buccaneer Gala is sponsored by the Dawson College Foundation as a fundraiser for student academic scholarship dollars. The Dawson College Foundation, formed in 1963, is a non-profit organization, established to raise philanthropic funds that benefit Dawson Community College. Monies raised from the 2007 Buccaneer Gala allowed the Foundation to double the awards of twenty-three previously established scholarships.
Tickets for the Gala can be purchased in the DCC Business Office or by calling 377-3396. Tickets are also available from Foundation Board members, including Jolene Myers, Foundation Secretary, Room 133; or online at www.dawson.edu [4]. Tickets are $80 per person. Get on board and be pirated away for an evening of food, festivities and fun while supporting a very good cause. Pirate attire is encouraged, but not required.
