with Artist Kevin Layton
DAWSON COMMUNITY COLLEGE ULMAN CENTER 110 ART ROOM
3 Thursdays of Fun & Creativity
February 18th & 25th 6-9 PM
March 4th 5-10 PM
Cost $50.00 for all 3 classes
GLENDIVE MONTANA-Participants in this class will hand build several different pottery forms. These pieces are strictly decorative. The pots go through an intense firing process of heating, carbonization & quenching. With the appropriate glazes these pots can have magnificent colors! Each participant will be making several pots, not all of the pots will survive due to the intense firing process. The pots that make it are well worth the colors. The Raku firing process is hot, smoky and will involve all of the participants.
Bring your creativity, talent, and enthusiasm for learning, and Kevin will bring the know-how, clay, tools, and equipment, including his portable raku kiln. To register, go to http://www.dawson.edu/ - on the home page, right hand side, above UPCOMING EVENTS “click here to register”. For more information contact Gretchen Bederman, Art Dept, at 377-9474, or MaryAnn Vester, Continuing Education, at 377-9409. The Raku workshop will be held at Dawson Community College in the Ullman Center art room 110.
