Students can learn the skills needed to become a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in classes offered by Dawson Community College and Glendive Medical Center October 4 through 26, 2010. Classes will be held at GMC and the Extended Care Facility from 5-9pm Monday-Thursday and 1:45-10pm Friday. Registered Nurse Donna Knuths teaches the course. Cost of the 4-credit, 80-hour course is $70.00, and enrollment is limited. The book is additional. Contact the DCC book store at 377-9457. The Nurse Assistant Training is geared to provide the participant with the skills to be able to perform satisfactorily as an entry level nursing assistant primarily in a long term care facility. The method for reaching that goal combines both a strong technical and theoretical background as well as an opportunity for experience in a supervised clinical environment.
