Dawson Community College freshman Debbie Schendel is the Mon-Dak conference volleyball player of the week. The 5' 7 outside hitter out of Great Falls, Montana is in her first year with the Buccaneer program and was recognized for the second time after another stand-out week of play for the Bucs.
In four matches last week she had 26 kills, 49 digs, 20 aces, and 3 blocks. Her serving efficiency was 92% and passing 98%. When Schendel commented on her second nomination in four weeks after the Dig Pink-beat cancer match against Williston State Tuesday all she could say was "yeah buddy!".
"I’m thrilled," said coach John Marble “DCC players have earned player of the week honors 3 of the previous 5 weeks.”
Marble said Schendel’s honor is well deserved. “Debbie is a multi-dimensional player. She put together great stats both offensively and defensively last week making a volleyball program highlight.” Volleyball is in its third year under Marble’s direction at Dawson Community College.
