The Dawson College Foundation is pleased to announce the establishment of the Keith P. Guelff Memorial Scholarship Endowment at Dawson Community College. Through a generous donation of $40,000 by Keith and Andrea Huschka and Precision Machine & Welding, the fund honors the late friend and mentor who had a positive and lasting impact on Keith Huschka's life and career. The Huschka's live in Glendive, MT and Dickinson, ND.
The Keith P. Guelff Memorial Scholarship will be a competitive and prestigious award of in-district full tuition and fees for a student majoring in Agri-business or a related field. The scholarship reflects Mr. Guelff's life as a farmer and life-long learner who loved studying about natural history, ancient artifacts, geology, and the wonders of the earth. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in bio-chemistry at Carroll College in Helena, MT. After college, he taught school for a time before he began farming in Dawson County. His passion was making things grow, hunting and collecting rocks and minerals, solving problems, and helping others. He believed that college was important for many reasons, not the least of which, because it teaches students how little he or she thought they knew.
"We are so grateful to Keith and Andrea Huschka for honoring Mr. Guelff in such a meaningful way. Their gift will affect the lives and futures of DCC students and their families for years to come," said Sandra Cargill, Executive Director of the Dawson College Foundation. Contributors may donate additional funds to the account at any time.
