Coach Tracey Clingingsmith is pleased to announce Haylee Gallegos and Brittany Smith have signed letters of intent to play for the Dawson Community College Lady Buccaneers next season.
Haylee Gallegos is a 5'7" point guard out of Laurel, Montana majoring in Law. Haylee was the Co-MVP of the Treasure State Classic held last month. Her high school team finished in fourth place at the state tournament in 2012 and second place in 2011.
"Haylee is a natural leader and fierce competitor" said Clingingsmith. "We have been watching her compete in the Eastern A for three years and are overjoyed to welcome her to our Buccaneer family".
This season Haylee finished the season averaging 10 points per game and 6 rebounds per game. Haylee earned the following awards during the senior season: 2012 Second Team All Conference, All State Honorable Mention. Haylee's mother Tami Gallegos, grandparents, Bill and Linda Lardis and Aunt Amanda Lardis all reside in Laurel, MT.
Brittany Smith is a 5'10" forward out of Savage, Montana. She is an Accounting Major and will be a second generation Lady Buccaneer. Brittany averaged 9 points per game and 8 rebounds a game during her senior year. She was also 2nd Team All Conference. Brittany's parents are Michelle and Brian Smith and currently reside in Savage, MT.
"Brittany is a local player" said Clingingsmith. "We have had our eye on her for quite some time. She is a strong forward and an incredible teammate we are eager to watch her develop and be a strong part of our success in the years to come".
