Head Women's Basketball Coach, Tracey Clingingsmith, who leads the Lady Buccaneers at Dawson Community College is excited to announce that Justine Taylor of Belgrade, MT has signed to play basketball and softball with Dawson Community College (2012-13).
Justine is the daughter of Joan and Justin Taylor, niece to Cody and Marteen Taylor of Glendive and has cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents in Glendive and Circle. "We are all overjoyed to get Justine to the Eastern side of the state," said Coach Clingingsmith.
Justine is a 5'4" "pure shooter" and point guard who earned All Conference Honors the past two years in Central A Basketball. She also made First Team All State Tourney Team this year. "When Belgrade battled Laurel in the consolation game at the state A tournament Justine drilled seven of 11 from the field, three of four from behind the arc for a team high of 18. She led her team to third place with a 51-46 victory," beamed Clingingsmith. "Justine is interested in Dental Hygiene. She is a spark plug we are so excited to welcome her to the Buccaneer family."
Assistant Coach Marlin Tibbs and Coach Clingingsmith are pleased to announce the signing of two Colorado players, Janniqua Thomas and Brittany Pascal.
Brittany Pascal played for Thompson Valley High School in Loveland Colorado. "Her team finished 18-7 this year and Britt plays with a poise and confidence we are eager to welcome to our team," said Clingingsmith. "Brittney is a 5'5 shooting guard/point guard who averaged 6 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals per game this year." Brittney will begin to pursue her interest in Nursing at DCC.
Janniqua Thomas played for Falcon High School located right outside of Colorado Springs, CO. Janniqua's family is from Great Falls, Montana where her parents met and where she was born. Janniqua is the oldest of four siblings and a natural born leader.
"JT" as she is known is a 5'10 forward who averaged 14.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game her senior year. "Janniqua is an athlete through and through. Her track coach encouraged Janniqua to try high jump and at her third meet she cleared 5'2," said Clingingsmith.
Janniqua earned First Team All 4A Team Honors and was selected to play in the Metro All Star Game. "She is great off the bounce and can create from anywhere on the floor. She will be a great asset for the Buccaneers."
