Dawson Community College is offering a Cake Decorating and Flower Arranging Workshop on Thursday, May 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the DCC Community Room.
The instructor for this hands-on workshop is Debra Caracol-Person, owner of Cake Connection Hawaii, a business offering simple, elegant cakes & floral designs with island flair.
Debra works with two pastry chefs, Mark Okumura and Richard Caracol, who together have over 30 years of experience in the business. They bake the cakes and she decorates them. Debra has many years of experience creating floral arrangements and cakes for a variety of events; in 2009 she decided to open her own business and has seen much success as the owner-operator of Cake Connection Hawaii which is located in Mililani, Hawaii.
She is visiting Montana and has graciously agreed to share her talents with Dawson Community College. So, for those special occasions like graduation, mother’s day, birthdays, father’s day, and anniversaries taking place, this is your chance to learn how to decorate cakes simply yet elegantly. With other special occasions like weddings coming up you will also have the chance to learn how to make a bouquet and/or corsage. Who knows there may even be a little hula lesson thrown in. The flowers being used will be freshly shipped from Hawaii. Come and partake in this wonderful hands-on learning experience.
Supplies: You will need to bring a baked, non-decorated cake with you. It can be a single cake or a multi-layer cake. Flowers and frosting will be provided. The cost of this workshop is: $20.00. You can register by calling 377-9409.
