Dawson Community College softball coach Jim LeProwse announced two new members to the Buccaneer program, Jackie Thomas from Billings, Montana and Sarah Trammell from Goodyear, Arizona.
Jackie Thomas is a right-handed short stop who stands 5' 6". Her accomplishments include Montana Class AA first team all - conference and first team All-State player for the Billings Senior High School, Broncs.
“Jackie is one of the very best softball players in the state of Montana." said LeProwse. "She is solid on defense and at bat. I expect Jackie will be a big addition for us next season. I’m pleased to have added her to this recruiting class. She comes to us from an outstanding high school program.”
Sarah Trammell will have to cross 5 states to join her Lady Buc softball squad in Montana. Out of Goodyear, Arizona the 3.0 student plans to pursue the field of Law and Legal Studies while at Dawson.
As an Estrella Foothills High School junior, Trammell had a .385 batting average with 23 stolen bases and was caught stealing only 4 times as a Wolf. Other awards and honors include Regional and State Champions in 2011. 2010 Arizona 3A State runner-ups as well as Region Champions. In 2009-2010 she was an outstanding student athlete finalist.
“At 5' 3", Sarah, is an athletic outfielder.” said LeProwse “Talented and versatile she can play infield as well. She is right-handed, hits the ball effectively and has ample foot speed which will serve us well when she runs the bases as a Buc. I was thrilled to recruit her from a fine Arizona 3A high school program.”
