The Adult Basic Education program provides instruction to prepare participants for the official GED test, as well as Standard Education Literacy, Workplace Literacy and Family Literacy. Through our FREE program, students will be able to attain their GED, enroll in college, and/or improve employment status.
The ABE program is located in Suite 132 in the Main Hall, directly across from the library at DCC. We also have a location in Sidney at the Richland County Public Library.
Step One: Call 377-9423 to get started. If you are 18 or under, you will need to provide an official withdrawal document from your high school.
Sidney residents: contact Crystal Gauthier at 433-1917 to set up an appointment.
Step Two: Take the TABE (Test for Adult Basic Education) Tests in reading, English and math to determine what areas you need review. (takes 2 hours)
Step Three: Set up a study plan that fits your schedule. Receive free one-on-one assistance from ABE instructors.
If you are studying for the GED:
Step Four: Take a practice test in any of the five subject areas to see if you are ready!
Step Five: Contact test administrator Jolene Myers at 377-9410 to schedule the GED test.
Step Six: Take the Official GED test. Tests are given once a month. Cost is $55. Bring photo I.D.
The GED exam is made up of five subject tests:
