Student Food Plan – 2009/10
Dawson Community College’s food service, The Galley, provides a simple and convenient system for meeting your week day dining needs. Located on the main level of the classroom building, the Galley offers nutritious ready to eat or cook-to-order breakfasts, deli, grilled items, salads or a full hot lunch. Students may elect to have a meal to go in place of the meal(s) they cannot attend. There is no weekend or evening Galley food service.
Any student, employee or visitor to the campus may make food purchases during the Galley’s hours of operation.
Hours of Operation 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
All students living in campus housing are required to have the $600 Galley food plan. The food plan debit card is flexed at $135 month for fall and spring terms. The Plan gives students the choice to make purchases for themselves or guests anytime the Galley is open without carrying around cash.
The food plan debit cards are purchased through the DCC business office at the beginning of each term at the same time college tuition is paid to DCC. All students living in campus housing are automatically charged for the meal plan at the same time charges for campus housing are assessed. Check or credit card payments are made payable to DCC.
Upon purchase, the card is activated and can be used immediately by the student at the Galley. At each use, the cashier will scan the card to transfer purchases to be deducted from the student’s food plan account.
Unused food plan dollars will not be refunded or carried over from semester-to-semester. If a student withdraws from DCC within a term, the card will be deactivated and no refund will be made.
