Admission Requirements
Students, who plan to earn a degree or certificate, or enroll in twelve (12) or more credits in any one semester, must submit the following information to the DCC Admissions Office:
- A completed application form. This form must be completed and signed by the applicant.
- A onetime only $30 nonrefundable application fee.
- Official high school transcript, from an accredited school, with graduation date posted, or a recognized high school equivalency certificate (G.E.D. scores) issued by a state department of public instruction. Those who have not completed high school or the GED may be accepted if it is determined that the applicant has the ability to benefit from enrollment in a program.
- The completion of either the American College Test (preferred) or the Scholastic Achievement Test, either of which are recommended for RECENT high school graduates. Applicants must submit official scores from the company. These test scores are not used as a basis for admission. Scores are considered for placement purposes only. Exceptions to this policy apply to: a) applicants who have been out of high school more than one year on the first day of class, b) students from foreign countries other than Canada, or c) transfer students.
- Transcripts from other colleges attended. Applicants who have attended other post-secondary institutions prior to applying to Dawson Community College must contact each institution and request that an official transcript of all course work be sent directly from the Registrar at that institution to the DCC Admission Office.
Students transferring from one of the units of the Montana University System, Miles Community College, or Flathead Valley Community College may submit the ‘Request for Transmittal of Application Materials’ with the appropriate fee, to the school the student attended most recently. The student’s admission file including all required documents will then be sent to DCC (Montana Board of Regents policy 301.5.4).

Re-Admission
Students who have previously attended Dawson Community College as a degree seeking student do not need to reapply. However, they should visit with the Registrar for advisor reassignment, and when registering for classes they should indicate on their enrollment form any changes in name, marital status, current degree seeking, etc.
