Foreign Student Requirements
International students must submit the following items by May 1 for the fall semester or August 1 for the spring semester.
- A completed application form. This form must be completed and signed by the applicant.
- A one time only $30 nonrefundable application fee; checks must be made payable to Dawson Community College, and indicate the U.S. banking codes.
- A transcript of academic secondary school (high school) records, and if it is not in English, it must be accompanied by an official translation. This transcript must be sent directly from the high school attended to the Dawson Community College Admissions Office.
- Applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit official results on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam. The minimum score accepted is 500. You may obtain information concerning this test from: The Educational Testing Service, PO Box 899, Princeton, New Jersey, 08540 U.S.A. or by inquiring at the nearest U.S. Consulate.
- Transcripts from other colleges attended. Applicants who have attended other post-secondary institutions prior to applying to Dawson Community College must contact each institution and request that an official transcript of all course work be sent directly from the Registrar at that institution to the DCC Admission Office. Again, if it is not in English, it must be accompanied by an official translation.
- Evidence of Financial Support Form . This form must be accompanied by financial documentation which certifies that funding will be available to cover all estimated expenses for one calendar year. This documentation should consist of an original bank or employer's letter on official letterhead. Photocopies of financial documentation are not acceptable.
- Student Living Complex Application.
Applications for apartments are available from the Office of Admission - (406) 377-3396 or toll free 1-800-821-8320 or email webmaster@dawson.edu. - Student Living Complex deposit; checks must be made payable to Dawson Community College, and indicate the U.S. banking codes.
- Students from a nation other than Canada must place on deposit funds to cover one-way air fare home in case of emergency or show proof of a round-trip ticket.
- Evidence of Immunization.
