The DCC Student Living Complex is comprised of three buildings: Gibson, Brueberg, and Kettner Halls, and houses 140 students in spacious apartment style housing. Each apartment houses four students and has two bedrooms, a kitchen-dining room, living room, bathroom and storage space. Each unit is furnished with extra long single beds, wardrobes, desks with chairs, stove, refrigerator, kitchen table and four chairs, a couch, chairs and end tables. Kettner Hall, the newest residence building, also provides students with an automatic dishwasher. The furniture is movable so residents may personalize their apartment in a way that suits them. Personal items may be added to supplement what is provided. All rooms have cable TV, computer internet access, and phone service (local calls are free but a telephone calling card of your choice can be used to make long distance calls).

Students must furnish their own bed, bath, and kitchen linens as well as kitchen utensils, dishes, pots/pans, and small appliances. Shower curtain, wastebasket, phone, smoke detector and window blinds are provided by the college.

Health policies do not permit pets in the housing complex.

Residence apartment rent is paid by the semester and apartments are rented for the entire semester. The rent for the 2007-2008 school year of $1,050 per semester is due when fees are paid at registration.

Parking is located within the complex and a limited number of electric plug-ins are available for an additional $35 per semester. Students interested in a plug-in need to contact the Business Office and these are issued on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The apartment complex has a commons with areas for recreation and entertaining, coin operated laundry facilities, and a small kitchen for personal cooking. Also, student mailboxes are located in the commons with mail delivery five days per week. Packages may be picked up in the Business Office.

All residence halls are closed over the semester break, during spring break and at the end of the spring semester. The Housing contract and contract rates do not cover these periods. Should students need to reside during the semester or spring break they should contact the Housing Director to make arrangements and an additional fee will be charged.

The college assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to residents' personal property. You should consider the purchase of insurance or an extension of your parents insurance to cover loss or damage to personal property.
