Adult Basic Education / GED Preparation Classes Adult Basic Education classes
are held at Dawson Community College. ABE classes are designed to help adults improve their skills in Reading, Writing, and Math. GED preparation classes are also available. Students must be sixteen years of age or older to attend classes. Adult Basic Education/ GED preparation classes are FREE and are available Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2-4, or as arranged DCC Campus.

CNA-Certified Nurse Assistant Training
June 10-June 27
The Nurse Assistant Training is geared to provide the participant with the skills to be able to perform satisfactorily as an entry level nursing assistant primarily in a long term care facility. The method for reaching that goal combines both a strong technical and theoretical background as well as an opportunity for experience in a supervised clinical environment. Successful completion of the training will satisfy requirements for Medicaid Certification.
Registered Nurse Donna Knuths will be instructing the CNA course. Cost of the 4-credit, 80-hour course is $70.00 plus book available through the DCC bookstore at 377-9457. Enrollment is limited.

This class provides an introduction to dinosaur paleontology with an emphasis on field work. Students will perform real world dinosaur paleontology and look at fossil evidence for one of the most dramatic events in Earth history: the extinction event at the end of the time of the dinosaurs. Students will gain an understanding of regional geology, fossil animals, plants and sedimentary environments of Eastern Montana. This class will consist of both a classroom and field component. Students will be involved in field excavation, fossil preparation and analysis, and the basics of field geology including stratigraphy and mapping. Extensive hiking and outdoor physical challenges require that students be physically fit. NOTE: GEO125 has a co-requisite of GEO126; GEO126 has a co-requisite of GEO125.
Logistics and Housing: Students provide their own transportation to Glendive, Montana. On-campus housing is provided in the DCC Student Living Complex, featuring fully furnished apartments, with stove, refrigerator, single beds, and high speed wireless internet. Students provide their own meals. Medical insurance is required. Be prepared for hot weather and cool nights.

DCC will retain ownership of all vertebrate fossils collected.
Minimum age 16.
No unsupervised fossil collecting at any time.
Participants are responsible for bringing all personal gear; dress appropriately.
Report all illnesses, allergic reactions, or injury to instructors promptly.
Stay together in the badlands; do not leave the group without informing the instructors.
