Careers in engineering are popular due to the prestige, positive job outlook, and higher than average salary associated with this field. If you’re innovative and like a challenge, then engineering may just be the right career field for you. The field of engineering has a wide range of career specialties, many of which require their own degree. The curriculum offered in this area will help prepare students to transfer to a university that trains engineers. The coursework below prepares students to enter into chemical, civil, general, mechanical or construction engineering programs. University programs of this nature require high concentrations of math and science courses. Check carefully with the university to assure maximum transferability. DCC has articulation agreements in Engineering with MSU-Bozeman and Montana Tech in Butte, Montana. The Associate of Arts and Associate of Science are transfer degrees and are awarded without designation of major, but do follow curriculum transfer plans. These degrees indicate that a student has completed a course of study that is essentially equivalent to the first two years of a baccalaureate degree.
PLEASE NOTE: When selecting courses, students should consult the catalog of the school to which they intend to transfer. They should then work with their DCC advisor to assure that the proper classes are being taken at DCC. Together, the student and the advisor will select courses that will fit into the program at the transfer institution.
