The financial aid budget, which is also referred to as the “estimated cost of attendance,” includes average tuition, fees, books, supplies & standardized living expenses for the student only, for a normal academic year (9 months).
Expenses of family members cannot be included in the budget. Financial aid “need” is determined by subtracting the expected family contribution from the estimated cost of attendance.

***WUE – Under the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) program, residents from the following states may participate if eligible: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. Resident from the following Commonwealth of Northern Marianas Islands may participated if eligible: American Samoa, Northern Marianas, Guam Marshal Islands, Federated States of Micronesia and Palau. Students in the program will pay a reduced tuition.
GEM – Growing Eastern Montana (GEM) tuition rate applies to student who are resident of North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. GEM tuition is equivalent to the out of district rate.
