Rural Organization Employee Management

The Rural Organization Employee Management (ROEM) program is for current owners, managers, supervisors, and team leaders in rural organizations. Designed specifically for the opportunities and challenges facing rural and small businesses, ROEM is an online program that covers topics in business administration, human resource management, ethical and legal principles, and organizational theories and concepts. Students are offered opportunities to apply this knowledge to real-world situations through practicum or internship simulations. ROEM offers students different options that build on one another.

  • Associate of Applied Science

    The two-year Associate of Applied Science provides business and human resources training for rural organizations, business owners and managers, and farmers and ranchers. 

    Program Outcomes

    • Demonstrate knowledge and use of available resources that answer legal, ethical, process, and practice questions encountered as they lead their organizations
    • Assimilate and synthesize the practical skills necessary to be a successful manager of the human capital within an organization
    • Demonstrate knowledge of the theories and concepts related to the study of organizations and human resource management
    • Apply learning through a practicum and/or internship or simulations
  • Certificate of Technical Studies - ROEM

    This certificate is designed to give participants a basic understanding of the business environment, small business entrepreneurship, business or technical writing, human relations in business, and varied human resource management techniques for effective and efficient business strategies. Building on each other, the CTS ROEM and CTS Human Resources can lead to the AAS ROEM degree. 

  • Certificate of Technical Studies - Human Resources

    This certificate is designed to give participants a basic understanding of the business environment, basic Microsoft Office knowledge, employee staffing and selection strategies, employee management and success, and human resource administration as well as ethical, social, and legal issues pertaining to human resource management. Building on each other, the CTS ROEM and CTS Human Resources can lead to the AAS ROEM degree.
