Music

Music helps students to develop an understanding and appreciation for the complex cultural and physical worlds in which they live and to realize their highest potential of intellectual, physical, and human development. Music professionals are employed in a variety of occupational fields including, but not limited to the following: music librarian, music therapist, orchestra manager, stage management, music producer, music performer, and music educator.

The Music program at DCC offers a solid foundation in theory, music appreciation, choir, and instrumental performance. The program prepares students for transfer to a four-year program in music education, performance, or elementary education with a music option.
